Eisteddfod of South Africa

Hard copy and ONLINE entries for Eisteddfod 2025 will open on 01 APRIL 2025

NobleLight Music introduces the National Eisteddfod of South Africa® to students to with the aim to develop their performance skills in a non-competitive environment. It also aids students to be inspired to hear how other students are developing within their age group and genre.

Students are invited to participate in the Eisteddfod during the closing weeks of the first term of the year according to the readiness and progress they have shown during lessons. If the student shows commitment and has a certain level of performance mastery suited to an audience, the student will be selected as a candidate to represent the school.

It is aimed that parents will be given the online links with which they shall register their child for the Eisteddfod as there must be an amount submitted to confirm the registration from their bank account. The parent must submit the proof of payment and the ticket number and date of entry to NobleLight before the registration date expires.

NobleLight aims to prepare students in the following categories only:

  • Classical and crossover music (vocal and instrumental)

  • Contemporary music (vocal and instrumental)

MORE ABOUT EISTEDDFOD (from their website):

The Eisteddfod is the registered trademark of the National Eisteddfod Academy and is presented annually in various regions during August – October.

Regional Eisteddfod events are presented within rural and urban communities in various provinces in South Africa and even across our borders. At these regional national events participants can participate in a few creative arts categories where we will only feature in the above mentioned two categories. The students are adjudicated by members of the NEA Adjudicators’ Forum.

All National Eisteddfod events are aimed at developing young performers through the adjudication and  mentoring process that involve both teacher and parent. This experience allows teachers and parents the opportunity to guide participants to deal with success and failure within a safe and child-centered environment. Al categories provide for the inclusion of learners with different abilities.
