VOCAL FITNESS DURING TRAVELS

Even if your trip doesn’t allow for much singing or practice, stay committed to your fitness! You can always hum a few tunes during breaks, meetings, or while busy (just like John Legend does on The Voice set). Keep your goals in mind, especially focusing on the consistency of your vocal cords and breath connection, as this will enhance your tone beautifully.

Make the most of your spare time:

WALK: Use solo walks between venues to work on your breath capacity and muscle response with the sips and hisses exercise. For example, take three short sips of air in, then exhale with three short hissing steps. Gradually increase to four and five. You can also practice gentle sighs and sirens with diaphragm support.

REST: Before you drift off to sleep, do some deep breathing diaphragm push-ups while lying on your back. Place a heavy book or object on your diaphragm as you slowly inhale and exhale. Alternate this with sips and hisses to help you relax and enjoy deeper sleep!

LISTEN: While commuting, tune into your songs' soundtracks. Have your headphones ready and use your phone to memorize the structure, melody, intervals, and breath techniques! PRAY: Reflect on God's vision for your life. Remember, music and song are a wonderful by-product or "support ministry" to your main mission of reaching, influencing, encouraging, and discipling souls for God.

Psalms 30:4 TPT: "O sing and make melody, you steadfast lovers of God. Give thanks to him every time you reflect on his holiness!"
